Juniper Hill is a neighborhood of gentle hills and curving streets that sits on the edge of the Sandwich marshes and in-between the Old King’s Highway and Cape Cod Bay. The Savery House occupies a large and beautiful site in this special part of Cape Cod. It served the occupants well through decades of family life. With retirement approaching, however, Len and Donna Savery decided to transform their modest, mid 20th Century Cape into a comfortable retreat that could accommodate the anticipated related retirement lifestyle, plus frequent family get-togethers and visits from grandchildren.

Polhemus Savery DaSilva Architects Builders used additions to expand both public spaces -- like kitchen, informal dining and family rooms -- and bedrooms. Terraces, a pool area, and gardens were designed by landscape architect David Hawk to be integrated with the living spaces that open onto them. We also added high-tech "smart house" systems for lighting, climate control, data and entertainment throughout the house.

Traditional Cape Cod forms and details were both desired by the Saverys and required by the Old King’s Highway Historic District.
